FAQ · MONEY & FEES

What it costs, how to add money, how to cash out.

How much does Pesito cost?
Sign-up: free. Sending to a $PesitoID: free. Receiving: free. Holding a balance: free. Cashing out via SPEI or to a debit card carries a bank-operator pass-through fee — we show it in full before you confirm, no markup, no fine print.
How do I add money to Pesito?
From the US: link your bank for ACH, or charge a debit or credit card. From Mexico: pay cash at any OXXO (generate a voucher in the app, pay at the register), or send yourself a SPEI from an existing Mexican bank. Processor fees are always shown before you confirm.
How does cash pickup at OXXO work?
When you send money to a Pesito user in Mexico, they can pick up cash at any of the 20,000+ OXXO convenience stores. They walk in with a government ID and the reference code from their Pesito app, and walk out with pesos. The operator charges a small fee that we show before you confirm the send.
How do I cash out to a Mexican bank via SPEI?
In the app, tap Cash out, paste an 18-digit CLABE (BBVA, Banorte, Santander, HSBC, Citibanamex, Azteca, and every other Mexican bank), confirm the amount, and Pesito builds the SPEI transfer. SPEI runs 24/7 — Sundays and 3am included.
How long does a transfer take?
Between Pesito users, seconds. SPEI cash-out to a Mexican bank, minutes — SPEI runs 24/7. OXXO cash pickup is available for collection within minutes of confirmation.
What exchange rate does Pesito use?
The interbank (mid-market) rate, with no hidden markup. If Pesito makes money on a conversion, you'll see it as a separate line item — we don't hide margin inside the rate. This is the single biggest difference against Western Union or Xoom, which fold their margin into the quoted rate.
What is Barter Railway?
Barter Railway is the payment infrastructure Pesito uses to move money between accounts. It's what makes sending to another $PesitoID free and nearly instant. Learn more at barter.sh.
