What Pesito is, how it works.

Pesito is a Mexican digital wallet for sending, receiving, and holding money from your phone. Sign up with a phone number, add money from your US bank or at any OXXO in Mexico, and send to any $PesitoID in seconds. You can also hold US dollars in the same app. We're a technology company, not a bank — your funds are held in custody at licensed financial institutions.

A US, Canadian, or Mexican phone number. A selfie and a government-issued ID (INE, passport, or residence card) are needed before you make your first larger transaction. Sign-up takes under two minutes.

Your $PesitoID is your unique identifier on Pesito — like an @username. It replaces the 18-digit CLABE for Pesito-to-Pesito transfers: instead of typing a long bank number, you just share your $PesitoID. Example: $maria or $jorge.

Yes. Sign up with a US or Canadian phone number (a Mexican number works too), add money from your US bank or a debit/credit card, and send to a $PesitoID in Mexico. Your family receives it instantly and can cash out at any OXXO or to their bank via SPEI — they don't need a bank account to receive. Also: the 1% US remittance tax that took effect January 2026 doesn't apply to digital Pesito transfers.

No — not on either end. In the US, you can fund Pesito with a debit card, credit card, or ACH. In Mexico, recipients pick up cash at any OXXO with just an ID. A Mexican bank account is only needed if your recipient wants direct deposit via SPEI — entirely optional.

No. Your balance is always in pesos and dollars — that's what you send, receive, and cash out. You don't need another app, another account, or another asset to use Pesito.
