Pesito vs Revolut. A global money app, and an account built for the trip home.
Revolut is built for people who live between currencies: hold dozens of them, spend abroad, send to most of the world. In the US it has a $0 Standard plan and paid plans at $9.99 and $16.99 a month, and in Mexico it now runs a full bank, with no transfer fee between Revolut users in the two countries.
Two things stand between Revolut and many Latino workers in the US. The full account needs a Social Security number; without one, Revolut offers a limited account only to holders of a supported US visa, such as a work or student visa. And on the free plan, sending to a Mexican bank costs a transfer fee, plus 1% on weekends and 0.5% past $1,000 a month of exchange. Pesito is pre-launch; Revolut works today.
The short answer
Pick Revolut if you have an SSN or a supported visa, you travel or hold several currencies, or your family in Mexico already uses Revolut.
Pick Pesito, once it launches, if you have no SSN and no visa on Revolut's list, or you want sending home to cost $0 any day of the week, with no monthly plan to unlock it.
